For deepening the tread patterns on heavy-duty tires, round blades with an R-type blade are recommended. Using the appropriate blades allows for cuts ranging from a depth of 3 mm (R 1 blade) to a maximum of 14 mm (R 5 blade). Our customers most commonly use the R 3 and R 4 blades, which provide optimal tread deepening capabilities with cut widths of 6-8 mm for the R 3 blade and 9-10 mm for the R 4 blade.
